Mac?

How good is the Mac really? Any Mac users out there? My company is a PC company we use PC's at home and all is not perfect. Is life really that much better with a Mac? Does it drop wireless connections? Is it faster at browsing? Does it really never get any viruses? Is everything really plug and play?

I feel, being a Mac guy, that I'm obligated to respond to these kinds of posts. 2Kool thinks you posted it up just to get me to respond...

Does it drop wireless connections?
Not any more than other computers I don't think.

Is it faster at browsing?
I think it's about the same, though I will admit that the Flash Player works better on a PC... something about the processor. But the new MacBooks are pretty sweet... I doubt you'd notice a difference.

Does it really never get any viruses?
Not entirely true. There are just a lot fewer viruses... for every 30,000 released for PCs, there are like 5 for Macs. They say the more popular Macs become, the more chances there are for them to get viruses. That being said, I've never, ever had a problem with viruses. For the last, oh, 16 years on a Mac.

Is everything really plug and play?
Depending on what you plug and what you play, sure. Like any computer, it probably helps to know something about technology, but it's pretty easy.

Is life really that much better with a Mac?
Yes, yes it is. Your life may not actually be better, but it will feel better. Plus, you'll be the envy of every PC-carrying person around. Next time you go to a coffee shop, look around. The cool kids are using Macs. Their parents are using PCs. Don't you want to be one of the cool kids? Haven't you seen the ads?

I keep trying to talk 2Kool into switching to a Mac, but for some reason she had a bad experience on Macs. That was 5 years ago, before the new machines and the new operating system. She doesn't know what she's missing.
