Sometimes I have a total sugar meltdown, today I ate about ten Oreo cookies right after dinner. Actually they were the organic version but what's the difference they aren't healthy. And I just finished reading Michael Pollan's latest book "In Defense of Food" where he advocates eating whole foods and avoiding all things processed. It has change my outlook a little but not enough to prevent a sugar meltdown.
I can't get this song out of my head (Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs):
I've always had a soft spot for Girl Rock Vocalists.

I have been doing alot of sugar. Candy bars at work, ice cream at home. I have been craving it. Then I tried on a pair of pants that didn't fit so good... I have now made an effort to stop eating the sugar. I feel like I am detoxing a little. That Ben and Jerry's just screams my name!! And the snickers, and the chocolate cake at work. Holy Crap.
What the hell is an organic oreo?

Well, today I ate gelato--the ingredients of which I was told had been imported from Italy. Is this bad? Do I really need to burn up the ozone for a little mouth pleasure? There's a food crisis in the world and I'm eating imported ice-y food?
Bu...for the record, I like the Newman's organic oreos better than the originals--I think there's more filling. Although once I made homemade oreos and they were delicious--but time-consuming.
I do feel better when I'm eat better. Duh. But who feels bad eating ice cream? Oreos? Yum.
love, Ka
What's bad about those oreos is that my parents bought them and opened them over two months ago, but with so many preservatives I'm sure they're fine.
The boys require lots of sugar and chocolate otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't crave it each day. But their tummies better off without dairy and not eating ice cream is a real killer for me. Maybe your sugar meltdown has to do with having not slept in many weeks. If we did drugs now would be about the time we'd invest in some speed or cocaine.
