File this on under sleep deprivation.
The littlest one doesn't want to sleep, it's 2:35 AM and she has been up since 1ish. I think she's finally down for the count. I'm just amazed at how little sleep humans can survive on. I think the only time I get uninterrupted sleep (I hear her talking to herself!) multiple days in a row is when I'm on a business trip. The poor CEO doesn't have such luxuries for her it has probably been over five years since she was undisturbed.
Good Night.

It is unreal how long this can go on. Just last night our older one was up almost every 2 hours! Will it ever end? It is usually the younger one, though, who needs someone. She needs to use the potty (even though she still wears a diaper at night), or can't find her teddy bear (which is usually within her arm's reach), etc. That said, the GC had a beer with a "new parent" last night who was excited the baby had ONE 3-hour stretch. I guess it's all relative.
As a parent with both her kids moved out and getting all the sleep I need, I would like to tell you to cherish those quiet moments with her late at night. Soon, she will be a teenager and you will be yelling at her to WAKE UP!
But, to a sleep deprived dad, cherishing your lack of sleep probably sounds pretty fricking stupid.
Hang in there, your day is coming!

Well, this is an apt subject for me right now--it's 3:25 a.m. and I'm awake. Not, of course, cause I want to be, but because stress woke me up and now is keeping me up. I dunno. It seems to me that to do a good job at my job, I'd have to have no life...but to do a good job at my life, I'd have to have no job. Of course, it's obvious which I'd prefer....I at least have to move North, somewhere where there is a real hope for a snow day.
And to all a good night,
Ka
hmmm...maybe some warm milk would do the trick...
Once upon a time when our prayers were answered and our babies had found their way to our arms I used to say, "Sleep is a small price to pay."
But the more sleep I lose, the more chocolate I crave.
Tough times.
