Watermelon, Pineapple and Mango.
Those I believe are my three favorite fruits. If I had to choose a favorite I don't think I could. Mango is a pain to peel and eat. Watermelon is probably the easiest to prepare. Pineapple is probably the most reliable as far as taste goes. I hate it when I'm looking forward to a good watermelon and it's old and mealy. I can't say that I've ever had a bad pineapple. Based on these facts if I was stranded on a desert and could only have access to one fruit I might just have go with pineapple.

Ya know, come to think of it, I have never had a bad pineapple either. It might just be the perfect fruit! I hate when I bite into an apple and it's all soggy. It just makes me angry.
Yeah, pineapple it is. I also am a big fan of raspberries. Two fruits that deliver what you expect of them.
Oh, strawberries! Fresh off the vine, bought from a farm on the way to Lake Michigan--oh the glory of the two weeks that the strawberries are in season in Michigan! (Of course, store bought ones can be very iffy--often taste like chemicals). Also, peaches!
Of course, I can't overlook the banana--I eat it all year long and it can be made into so many yummy things: smoothies, dipped in chocolate, fostered, bread, etc etc.
Now, to me, the pear LOOKS like the perfect fruit--its shape has such sex appeal--but ugh! that mealy flesh!
Oh! how I've missed the blog while our computer was getting a new hard drive--and I've missed out on a lot of hot topics: the holiness or locker combinations, the Pixies, hobbies, dogs...
Keep on rockin' T-C.

My vote: Really fresh (from the farmer's market) Oregon raspberries. Last year's were only OK, but the year before?? WHOA. I ate almost a pint a day. Of course, they really need to be eaten the day they're purchased anyways. You know it's bad when your child asks for seconds and you (almost) lie and say they're all gone because you don't want to share them.
Squares of Joanie C's room-temperature cantaloupe. It's never sweeter than when it's served with toothpicks on the Rock. "Canteloupe tonight - my fathah's got the laddah!"
Also Oregon strawberries which like Michigan strawberries are only in season two weeks a year. Mmmm.
Hard to say - there is nothing like fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries or blueberries (especially when picked while camping). But that perfect tasting peach is wonderful too- and a great watermelon.
An apple is best when picked off the tree in fall -that crisp crunch of the first bite.

oops - I forgot to add that my husband thinks the cantelope with toothpicks and the rock is amusing.
