We spent a nice Mother's day out and about yesterday and we capped it off with a nice slushie bubble tea. What's up with bubble tea? Don't get me wrong I do love the stuff but when did it hit the shore's of America and also when did the big name gourmet coffee shops turn into ice cream parlors? Let's be honest Starbucks has become a fancy Dairy Queen. Some of the smoothies are close relatives to the Dairy Queen Blizzard.

You know, I've been wanting to throw a bubble tea party--you can order all the supplies and any flavors you want...but I'm afraid I'll cook the bubbles wrong....
Anyways, my new big idea had been to throw a Willy Wonka party--you really can make lots of food into the shape of non-food items...a buche noel, meringue mushrooms, and certainly there's a way to make lick-able wallpaper...but I really want to make edible tea cups--like from the original movie. I thin it's doable...I'm looking towards the mexican sugar-skulls as my model...but I think I'd need a mold, which is probably out of my league. But I have to say, I'm a bit nervous about the Tim Burton movie now that I've seen a little glimpse of it...I mean I think Johnny Depp looks too weird--his usual self is plenty Willy Wonka-ish...why the plastique look? I don't know the original movie is dark and creepy enough...why the weird colorful gnomes in the new one? I hate to say I'm skeptical.
Well, I just can't help sharing this disturbing info I learned over the weekend...blah blah blah I was checking around to see if a certain skincare company tests on animals and found I have to stop buying like half the products in my household. Most shocking of all--Iambs pet company does animal testing! And I'm not talking about dogs doing taste tests either! I won't give the gorey details but will simply urge you all to switch to another brand of pet food if you're currently a Iambs customer. There are just too many other choices out there to put us with this. Uh, that is, if you're against animal testing. Anyways, biG, expect a call with the details.
Whoo--thanks for letting me babble on bloggers and readers.
Now using Tom's of Maine,
